Design

These patches are handprinted one by one in my studio using carved blocks, pressed with care onto natural fabric. Every piece is then hand-cut and hand-sewn — no machines, no mass production, just slow, quiet work.

That means:

✦ Each patch is a little different in size and shape

✦ Ink placement may vary slightly

✦ Edges may show signs of the handmade process (and we love that)

Simply iron it on or stitch it to your favourite tote, jacket, pouch, or notebook cover — and carry a bit of printmaking magic with you wherever you go.

  • Materials: Cotton or linen, fabric ink (heat-set & washable)
  • Use: Iron-on (instructions included), or sew for extra hold. Not recommend to be used on stretchy fabric.Fabrics like nylon or polyester melt at high temperature, so the patch will not adhere.
  • Size: Varies slightly.
  • Edition: Small batches only – once gone, they may not return!

How to Apply (Iron-On Instructions)

  1. Set your iron to medium to high heat (no steam).
  2. Place the patch where you’d like it, ink side up, fabric side down.
  3. Place a piece of thin cotton or baking paper over the patch.
  4. Press down with firm pressure for 15–20 seconds.
  5. Let it cool, and check the edges — repeat 2-3 times if needed.
  6. Iron inside of garment underneath the patch for 30 seconds
  7. For extra durability, we recommend stitching around the edge (optional but helpful for items that get heavy use).

About Lino printing

Every piece from Tako Press is hand-printed using traditional linocut techniques, right here in our little studio. Each print takes time to make—from carving the block to letting the ink settle into the fabric over a few days of drying. That’s what gives it that soft, worn-in feel right from the first wear.

Since everything is printed by hand, you might notice little ink chatter or tiny imperfections—those are part of the charm, and what makes each item truly one of a kind.

Care guide

To keep your print looking sharp for as long as possible:

🫧 Wash cold with gentle detergent. Some ink may lightly fade on the first wash—that’s totally normal and part of the handmade magic.

🚫 No fabric softener or bleach (unless it’s non-chlorine and really necessary).

🧺 If ironing, go low and do it inside-out.
